Wales and West Harness Racing Association (WWHRA)

WWHRA was setup back in 1981 by a group of enthusiastic people with the love of Harness racing.  Dai Lloyd Evans (Chair), Pauline Hayes (Sec), John Harris and John Inskip (handicappers and Comentator) were the pioneers of the club which continues 35 year later.  The first race meeting held by the club was at Bridge End Farm, Amleley by the kind permission of Mr & Mrs Brian Morgan.  During the last 35 years the club has supported and promoted harness racing in the Wales and West area under the British Harness Racing Club rules.  

WWHRA is a membership based association where everyone is welcome to join.  The Association has supported a number of clubs from Tregaron to Pembridge.  The Association also organises a number of race meetings throughtout the year at various venues within the area.  The Association also tries to innovate and in 2015 started the Wales & West Pacing Series which was recieved very well by both owners, trainers and the general public.

WWHRA also run an awards scheme for Owners, trainers, drivers and horses.  2015 was no exception and went down to the last day of the season to decide who would come out on top.
